SHOCKING: Man Breaks Into 51-Year-Old Woman’s House, Attempts To Rape Her
An alleged rapist, David Victor, popularly known as “Badoo,” on Thursday appeared before an Ebute-Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for attempted rape and assault on a 51-year-old woman.
The accused, who resides at Owode-Ibese-Fashola Estate in Ikorodu area, was also charged for causing grievous harm and behaving in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace.
The prosecutor, Insp Cousin Adams, said the accused committed the offences on March 3 at about 2 a.m., at Oremetta Estate, Ibeshe-Ikorodu in Lagos State.
According to Adams, the accused “Badoo,” forcefully entered into the home of one Yetunde Giwa, 51, the complainant, where he hit her with a 9-inch-building block before attempting to rape her.
“Her screaming attracted vigilantes and neighbours who rushed to her aid,” he said.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 166 (d), 243 and 404 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The magistrate, Mrs H.O. Omisore, however, granted the accused a N100,000 bail with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till Sept. 5 for mention.
