Super Nigerian Paralympian, Rolland Ezuruike Wins Gold At The Rio Paralympics Games
A Nigerian paralympian has broken world records as he won Nigeria’s first gold medal at the the 2016 Paralympic games in Rio De Janeiro.
Nigeria’s own Rolland Ezuruike has won the first gold medal for team Nigeria at the 2016 Paralympic games in Rio De Janeiro. He didn’t just win, he also smashed Paralympics record by setting 3 Paralympics records in his run to win the top prize.
Ezuruike lifted 200kg in the men’s 54kg to beat China’s Jian Wang and Greece’s Dimitrios Bakochristos to the top prize.
It is Nigeria’s first gold and the second medal in the games.
Earlier, Latifat Tijani had won silver in the women’s 45kg powerlifting event with a lift of 106kg. China’s Dandan Hu won gold with a lift of 107 kg while Zoe Newson of Great Britain got bronze with 102kg.
